flowers, fingerpaint, and whales

Lahna loves playing in the dirt and sometimes even eating it, but grandma put her to work and made her get ready for Henry's graduation party by planting flowers.

Good little helper ( :
Lahna loves to sit and color so I decided to try out finger painting.  It was quite messy but she had tons of fun, but now instead of coloring all she wants to do is get out the paints.

"Look Mom!"

I just had to hang her artwork up!!

Lahna's masterpiece

Bryce and I celebrated our three year anniversary by going the Cheesecake Factory, of course!  The food was great and it was so relaxing.  Thanks for watching Lahna Dan and Jessie!
Not loving the kisses

Wow, all three of us looking at the camera at the same time rarely happens.

Lahna is now talking up a storm.  Ask her to say any word and she will at least attempt to repeat it back.  I'm not sure why but I get a kick out of her saying the word whale.  This is after Henry's graduation party so she is clearly hyper off the enormous amount of sugar she was fed throughout the night....

I scream for Ice scream

The kids lounged by the pool in their swim suits while eating
ice cream cones at Grandma's house.
I'd call that one perfect day!

Opps!  They forgot to wait 30 minutes before swimming.

Lahna decided to share her ice cream with the cat.
She thought it was so funny when the kitty licked her fingers.

We like to go on family walks to McDonalds and share an ice cream cone.  Lahna definitely gets to eat most of it, although her and Bryce tend to fight over whose turn it really is.

Who doesn't smile while eating ice cream!?
(unless you're lactose intolerant)

Kittens!Kittens!Kittens!

One of the cats at my mom's house had kittens.  Lahna loves them...maybe a little too much!  The poor things can barely avoid her pudy fingers, that are anything but gentle, especially when she picks them up by the neck.  They love to cuddle and play.  We need to find good homes for them, so if you want one let me know ( :

Potty Training

Monday night we bought Lahna a potty!  She got to help me pick one out and was so excited about it, that she just had to hold it in her lap the whole way home.  We put it in the bathroom and I let Lahna go sans diaper (she practiced sitting on it) and told her if she needed to potty she could go in her own toilet.  I went into the kitchen to cook dinner while she was playing with her toys.  Next thing I know she comes crashing down the hallway carrying her toilet with a huge grin on her face ( :  She drops the toilet on the kitchen floor with pride and points to it as pee soaks the floor and my feet.  Yay for potty training!!!  It reminded me so much of this commercial I just had to share it...

The laughs didn't end there.  I let her pick out a sticker for going in the potty.  She picked a lollipop sticker.  She stuck it on her little finger and started licking it ( : What a goof!

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day!!!

Being a mom means sometimes we have to do unpleasant things like cleaning up poop, both figuratively and literally...but it's all worth!
This morning I changed Lahna's diaper when she woke up.  While I went to grab a diaper from her room (and got distracted by all the clothes she emptied from her drawer) she decided to leave me a big present on the floor!  Yes, you guessed it...poop.  Not only did she poop in multiple places she stepped in it and then tracked it around the apartment looking for me. When she found me she grabbed me by the hand dragged me into the living room and pointed to her mess with a look on her face like "Mom this is for you!"  What a perfect way to spend Mothers Day by doing one of the things I've learned to do so well...picking up poop ( :

Love, love, love her!

End of April

This is the rest of my April pictures, besides St. Pattys Day which will eventually be posted.
Hopefully I'll have it done by the next major holiday which will be the 4th of July!

Just hanging out!

I brought home a loaf of bread and set it on the table.
Fact:  Lahna is now tall enough to grab things from the table.

"I wonder if they'd notice if I just took one bite."

"Opps!  They noticed."

So excited to go outside and play.
Like I said earlier Lahna can now reach the top of tables.  She's just checking out what everyone is eating.

Giving one of her famous "looks"
When Grandma and Grandpa were in town last Lahna was quite the Ham.

Doing the "splits"

Grandma helping Lahna somersault
Grandma brought Lahna a backpack.  She loves to carry it around.  She thinks she is such a big girl!

"Hey, check me out!"
We found a box at Grandma's one day so the kids decided they wanted to see what it was all about.
Jackson

He loved being in the box!

Ryan...not so much.

Here's what Lahna does on a ten minute car ride...
Hangs out.

Does goofy things.

Eats...while doing goofy things.

Reads

And finally gets bored...
"Are we there yet?"

While making Uncle Andrew a birthday card, Lahna decided she didn't want to use her hands to hold the marker.  At least I know if there was ever an accident where she lost mobility in her hands she would still be fine!
