September

I'm amazed at how much Lahna has learned over the past few months.  She can now count to 3 and repeats the letters of the alphabet when I say them.  She is one amazing girl!

Lahna likes to help me make cookies.  Of course she only likes to lick the bowl and make a mess but it's always fun to have a side-kick in the kitchen.

Good stuff.
On a rainy day we went swimming at the Y and then stopped at the grocery store to pick up supplies to make our own pizza.  Lahna loves pizza and had just as much fun making it as she did eating it.  The only think I wouldn't let her help with was putting the cheese on the pizza because she would grab a handful of cheese from the bag and instantly stick it in her mouth.

Eating the cheese off the top.

We spent most of September at the park.  Lahna is dangerously brave when it comes to what she thinks she can do, which is everything.  She even taught some little boy to go down the slide head first until his mom came over and scolded him.
Lahna and Jackson

They loved the lion at the park and all three of them had to give him kisses before we could go home.

Lahna found a new favorite toy.  We told her we were going to send her to Aunt Katie in New York so she tried to shut the lid but it didn't quite work.

One chilly afternoon I put Lahna down for a nap after reading quite a few books.  We had been to the park earlier that day and she seemed really tired or maybe I was just really tired!  I went to lay down on the couch and after about 20 minutes I woke up to one of Lahna's books that makes sound.  When I went in her room this is how I found her.  She some how had emptied her entire basket of books into her crib and was just hanging out reading.

Bryce worked every weekend in September, which was definitely a bummer.  Lahna and I spent lots cuddle and craft time together!  She helped me make a fall wreathe.  When I went to Michaels they had wreathes for sale there from $30-$50.  I made mine, which I think is pretty fantastic for $10!  We also got out the finger paints to make a fall tree.

Lahna's handprint tree
We also did lots of snuggling while watching Bolt, Ice Age, or Finding Nemo.  We had ice cream and popcorn with marshmallows for our movie snacks!

Trying to watch the movie and smile for the camera at the same time ( :

Lahna then thought it would be fun to take a few pictures of bear...
she took 20 pictures and they all looked exactly likes this!

And for your amusement...(please don't judge my singing "talent")

Rocket Slide

We used to visit the rocket slide park (I'm still not sure what the real name for it is) when we were little.  It was so much fun getting to take Lahna there and seeing her play at the same park I used to love.  They've even updated the park.  They added another smaller playground easier for kids to use and the wading pool which used to be a cement hole in the ground is now a big figure eight with fountains!

Excited about the Rocket Slide!

So much fun ( :

Ryan

Haha.  I love this one!
It was a cloudy day which made it perfect, that way the slides weren't too hot.  When we were getting ready to leave it started to sprinkle and the kids thought it was the perfect time to play in the wading pool.  It was a little chilly but they didn't seem to mind.

Lahna jumping!

Jamie and the boys going down the slide.  As you can tell it was pretty steep.

The ground under the rocket slide was a tad bit bouncy so the kids loved running and walking on it.  Jackson thought it was pretty funny!

Gymnastics.

Ever since the Olympics Lahna has been doing gymnastics every where.  She swings from everything, climbs on everything and jumps off everything.

Swinging for Grandma's table

Swinging from Jamie and Marcus's counter

She loves hanging and swinging from the pull-up bar
She loves to climb up on the back of the couch and jump off onto the floor.  Just the other day she found a huge rock at the park to clime and decided she needed to jump off that too.  This picture was taken while watching the Olympic gymnastics.  She even has the arms down! (And I have no idea why she's naked.  The more I look back at pictures the more I realize there are way too many of her running around naked.  Bryce and I should probably make her wear clothes more often so the naked thing doesn't become a learned habit, that could make for some awkward moments!)

Lahna doing some pretty awesome somersaults.
At least she's dressed in these!

So long summer!

These are the rest of the summer swimming pictures (except for vacation, which may or may not get posted).  We spent most of this summer outside at the pool.  And although it was lots of fun it was a hot summer which has made me especially grateful for fall this year.  Now that it's cooler out we've been able to go to the park and play outside without dripping sweat the whole time, always a plus!

Oh the faces she makes!

Sporting her bunny slippers while in her swim suit...not quite sure!

August

Here are the rest of the August pictures since we're already halfway through September I figured I should get them posted.
Aunt Katie! ( :

Getting so big!
Lahna loves going on wagon rides.

Cute face.
Aunt Katie made mini cupcakes for Lahna.  They had chocolate pudding in the middle and Lahna loved them.  I gave her one in the car on the way to Omaha, which obviously was a horrible decision.  She squeezed all of the pudding out and rubbed it all over her legs.

We made tons of popsicles this summer.  We used different kinds of yogurt.  This one is vanilla yogurt with chocolate chips.  Thanks for the popsicle maker Ken and Maggie!

I probably just told her it was nap time...

Cheesin' with Aunt Katie

Fish face?

Pouting because Katie won't give her the camera!

Stunner shades.

Goofy girl!

Aww.
Going shopping in her shades and no shirt.  Good thing Grandma doesn't have the rule no shirt no shoes no service.

After swimming all summer we decided to mix it up and try the slip and slide.  It didn't go over that well, maybe next year.  Jackson was the only one who really liked it.  Lahna was pretty indifferent, and Ryan just hated it!
