Lahna as a Series

On Saturday we went to Jamie's shower and she was good the whole time (by she I mean Lahna not Jamie...although Jamie was also on her best behavior) , I was quite impressed.  Lahna told me she can't wait for her cousins to arrive, I had to explain that we need them to wait a few more weeks to make sure they're big and strong...she wasn't too happy but said she would try to be patient.

Katie sat in the back with Lahna on the way home and took pictures.

Here's Lahna as a series...

"Stop taking pictures of me!"

That night Bryce had a poker tournament so we hung out at grandmas...
She's stunning...

"What the heck is this thing?"

Later that night...

After a busy weekend it's so nice to come home and just chill with Dad.

Mugshots & Tummy Time

A few mugshots from the week -

Love the onesie - Thanks Grandpa!!

Her headband slid over her eyes but she didn't seem to mind.

Not quite ready for the Bumbo seat.

Bryce...is that you?

Tummy Time with Lahna...I know the pictures are quite repetitive but she looked so darn cute I had to post them all.

Skills of a 7 week old

This week we finally recovered from our family cold and are much better.  Lahna has been talking and smiling more than crying which is always a plus.  She has also learned some new skills this week that include the following:

Skill #1) Drooling...I'm sure it's just the beginning.

Skill #2) Chewing on her tongue...which makes it look like she's chomping on a piece of gum and she could at any moment blow a bubble.

Skill #3) Lounging - okay so she's had this skill since birth
Livin' the Life

Happy girl ( :

Skill #4) Drinking water

We went swimming at the YMCA, Lahna loved the water.  I learned not to put her on her stomach because the first thing she does is stick her face in the water and gulp away...she tried to drink the water multiple times.  She also has started drinking the water while she's in the bathtub. I'm guessing chlorine is probably not the best thing for a baby and her diaper was proof.

Apprehensive about the whole swimming thing

Contemplating how to drink the pool water

Dreaming about drinking the pool water.

Skill #5) Making normal faces
It's hard to get a picture of her looking normal, not that I don't think her gremlin faces are adorable, but I have to admit at this age she's unphotogenic...to say the least.
After swimming we bundled her up in a cuddly bear outfit and she sure liked it because she was all smiles.

Can we all say...Awwww

Skill #6) Kicking her socks off - I admit this one makes me a hypocrite.  While I love having my shoes and socks off I don't like when she does, her feet and hands are already cold and having no socks on just doesn't help.  But for the life of me I can't get her to keep them on.

Six Weeks Old

This week we had a family cold.  Although I'm better Bryce and Lahna still have the sniffles and are coughing away.  Personally I think they're faking it so they get to hang out and take naps together while I'm left to do everything around the apartment.  See proof below....

On another note...Bryce came home one day and started singing "Hey Lahna, what's your name?"  Since chaning the words this has become Lahna's theme song...yes it is a very inappropriate song for a newborn.

Things about Lahna

Things Lahna loves...
#1 Eating - obviously

#2 Beads - it doesn't take much to entertain a baby

#3 Ceiling fans - she has one sided conversations with our ceiling fan which involves smiling, chatting, and screaming at it.

#4 Naps with Dad....and Grandpa
and Aunt Tara...

#5 The zebra blanket - very fascinating stuff

#6 Talking - like mother like daughter

Things Lahna hates...
#1 Hiccups
#2 Yawning
#3 Sitting in one place
These pictures pretty much sum up her dislikes

Last but definitely not least, I got to meet Ezekiel Gerald Grant Stokka this week.  He is beautiful, perfect and so loved!! And although she doesn't know it yet Lahna is going to love Ezekiel so much!  Keep him in your prayers as he undergoes surgery and continues to heal.

The last few weeks

Lahna gets fussy every night at about 9 o'clock.  We found that giving her a bath really calms her down.

Lahna does two things during tummy time.  She sits up like this or she eats the blanket and when figuring out she can't get milk out of it she starts to scream.

Lahna's sweet pink kicks.

Trying to roll over...her belly gets in the way!

Who wouldn't want to be carried around while they sleep?
